fernando suarez was here in eugene tonight. he is the father of a soldier killed in iraq.
*sigh*
my staunch belief that war is never the answer continues to be reinforced by the people coming back from iraq.
its absolutley amazing the suffering that we are causing. it is absolutely amazing at the suffering of not only the iraqi people but also our soldiers.
he told a story of a soldier who killed himself after he shot out the legs of an innocent iraqi boy. he told the story of his son's death caused by an unexploded us cluster bomb. he told us that so many of the soldiers there don't know why they are there anymore.
these are not the stories that are coming home. these are not the stories that so many supporters of war want us to hear, these are not the stories that people want to believe. but, these are the stories of war.
he talked about how as our soldiers come home the terrorists will follow. these children who's lives we are ruining now are going to come and take their revenge, like we have done in their country. revenge for nothing done wrong. the innocents taking aim at more innocents.
