I know how much of yourself you invested in the call for peace. I know how disappointed and hurt you must be. I'm sorry for that. It would be asinine of me to say "Go to Greece and enjoy yourself." when I know you will take the weight of this with you. Instead I'll say go to Greece and get the absolute most of it that you possibly can. Be safe. Love you.

Just because war has started doesn't mean that we can't continue to fight for peace. Even though bombs are dropping and Bush has his military machine in action, we can still voice our opinions that the war must end and peace must reign. As soon as images of the destruction start coming through, the voices who have been saying, "The innocent will be harmed more than Saddam," will have proof that this war isn't going to succeed the way Bush wants it to. But, Lisa is right, go to Greece and find some personal peace. Tell the people you meet in Greece that most Americans don't approve, that most Americans are saddened and in mourning, that most Americans are not pro-war. And, as you bask in the sun, and dip your toes in the history that surrounds such a beautiful place, remember that peace begins within, and you are there to find peace for yourself so you can continue fighting for peace for the world.
Much love, and peace, and well wishes.

But most do. Why would you want her to lie?
