a bigger deal than i originally thought.
okay,
so the earthquake has been reported as a 7.0, originating from about 30 miles below the surface of the earth. the epicenter was about 30 miles south of seattle. i've heard that some folks in eugene have felt it (remember, i work in albany, 45 mi. north of eugene, yes. i commute everyday).. while down here on the first floor we didn't feel much, folks up on the third floor of the esd felt it much more. lamps were swaying. folks up there are taking a bit more notice than us down here.
al has some good information as does brent in seattle.
also, stay tuned to cnn.com for more updates.
